  • My experience in the field prior to private practice was in all levels of treatment for mental health and substance use disorders. I consider myself to be transparent and straightforward which I encourage the individuals I meet to do the same. I feel the therapeutic relationship is vital to someone feeling comfortable in a counseling setting. I have a strength based approach to therapy where I assist individuals in recognizing their own strengths to manage their lives. I truly believe in our motto “Redefine Expectations, Redefine Self” for every client we serve.

I am a firm believer in self-care so I pride myself in hobbies such as the gym, attending sporting events, and exploring the local community. I love cooking and experiencing different cuisines and consider myself a “foodie”.

  • Hi, I'm Melinda and I started at Redefine Therapy in 2024. I am a licensed counselor, a board certified art therapist, and an artist. Therapy with me usually starts with talking and then I weave in art therapy, writing, psycho education, and EMDR techniques based on what you are working on. I have a gentle approach to therapy because I know some things people come to therapy for can be difficult to talk about. My training and background are in trauma informed therapy. I want to assist you in finding the right tools to tell your story. It's important for you to know that you do not need any experience with art to work with me. Come as you are!
